Have you tried here? Garmin's mobile electronics page I tried to copy a link to what I'm about to describe but it didn't work very well so just follow these directions. From the the link above, go to the "Discontinued" link under "On the Go" section. Scroll down to the iQue Click it and then click "Software". The very first link, "iQue English-only Ver. Release 6 as of Aug 09, " is what you need as I recall.
Good luck! Q-Eye , Nov 18, I just received this reply from the Garmin support staff, in response to my request for either the English voice files, or a new setup disk: "Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I am sorry but the device has been discontinued since I could not make it work is the one which we all know contains some useful software, but not the increasingly rare Ique voice files.
So I wrote back: "Hi: Thank you for getting back to me. I did already understand that the unit has been discontinued, and do appreciate that you have some useful updates on your site. But this still does not explain the lack of replacement English voices on your site. When this unit does a hard reset, the voice files are lost permanently. The voice files are key to the operation of the unit.
It would be very easy to do In addition, sometime after discontinuing the unit, Garmin posted a backup program, so that a user could save the voice files from the unit, to the SD memory. This is presumably because Garmin realized people were losing the voices after a hard reset, and wanted to give them an opportunity to save and restore them. If so, then why not provide the files to someone who lost the voices before the backup program became available?
And also, many people lost their voice files because of the very update files you post This, because the updating process entails a hard reset. And yet there is no warning of this loss of voice files at all! Only that data will be lost, so the user is told to do a last minute sync before updating. And lastly, I would point out that by avoiding posting this vital software for a discontinued product, you risk the affect it may have on future sales of current units.
Anyone doing a search on the internet can find many references to this lack of support by Garmin, and it would of course occur to many that any new unit they buy may similarly be abandoned by the company.
If such a search instead reveals a prompt addressing of the issue, then it can only strengthen one's opinion of the brand. I for one like Garmin Drag the Disc Image file. If the map is not listed on your GPS then you don't have the correct folder, move the Disc Image file to the other folder.
Please wait Search Advanced Search Search Tips Handheld and older model GPS units copy to the ' Garmin ' folder. Nuvi and newer model zumo's copy to the ' Map ' folder.
You may need to create the ' Map ' folder when installing the map for the first time. It was not until my return to Europe recently that I tried to install and unlock the maps. No go! They advise me that I should wait for a "new map update", "sometime" in Owning V8 or V9 maps will not qualify one for an unlock code for the new package.
I had a very similar experience UK. They offered me then Euro Nav V9 update. Totally rendered the unit uselss and had no maps at all after my attempt as they did not supply the right "Unlock Code". Phoned and through a wobbly they would not supply an unlock code Unless I paid I argued that the support should come for a short time and I would expect an update at least once in a new products liftie but NOT forever agreed.
They wouldn't budge. In the end sent me a manually prepared disc with a map image on which put my unit sort of back to normal but not quite e. Don't think my c will ever be the same! I have had the nuvi since it first came out. I travel almost every week of the year due to my job as a computer consultant for a large worldwide software company.
I have a few issues with this unit: 1 the Auto-Zooming feature while driving is very very annoying and a feature that can not be turned off. I miss many turns while driving due to this feature changing the map size by zooming out on me when I do not want this to happen. Plus all of the map update issue mentioned here sounds like its very painful and sometimes destructive. I too have difficulty with Garmin. The first one said code was out of date. But maps remain locked. I am fed up with Garmin and feel they give no help whatsoever.
Any one can help would be appreciated. Have done the wizard several times. I have personally logged 26, miles on my garmin legend before the crashing issue started mid Love the legend for its small size and battery life- its super accurate, and i never hit the trail without it. It is perfect in the car with its larger, external antenna- gets a lock much quicker, and keeps a stronger signal.
The color screen and auto routing features are helpful, and work just the way they should I have had it approx 9 years now- still functions as perfectly as it did the day i took it out of the box now, i dont mean to sound like i work for garmin P. A, but i have been nothing but impressed with all the garmin products i have owned and used through the years, and i will continue to support the company in the future.
It insists on installing to F, which does not have enough space; I have 3 other partitions with plenty, but it won't listen. I downloaded the Jetmouse keygen, inserted my serial number, made the appropriate file in the directory, but I don't know what to do from there. I am looking for the western canada topographical and the City Navigator. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Book on-line. I think so. Posted by jzawodn at April 19, PM. Ask Bjoern Hansen said:.
